For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Jesus’ Work Continues through His Spirit
Pentecost | Memorial Day Weekend
As the Sprit brings today’s message into our midst, we are assured that as we are brought to faith in Christ, we receive the fullness of who we’ve been called to be.
“Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” Now this he said about the Spirit…

Hope
Ascension of Our Lord | Commitment Sunday
Through the resurrection of Jesus, we, as believers, are filled with the hope of eternal life with Jesus, who promised His disciples He would return as He ascended.
We “give [ourselves] fully to the work of the Lord, because [we] know that our labor in the Lord is not in vain.”
~ 1 Corinthians 15:58 ~

The Old Rugged, Wooden Cross
Since the altar is stripped and the paraments are gone, the wood of many altars, lecterns, and pulpits are fully exposed. Wood reminds you what took place on the tree of the cross, where your Lord once died.

Light
Light Shining in the Darkness
Jesus Christ is the “light of the world” (John 8:12) who drives out sin and darkness. He fills us with His light and joy to reflect to the world.

Fragrant Oil
In the Early Church, when new Christians were baptized, fragrant oil was often placed upon them to remind them of their new life in Christ, who Himself rose from His spiced tomb as the Anointed One of God. This oil set them apart as ones who had been chosen by God.
