Pastoral Services
Pastoral Services
Sickness or Hospitalized: The pastor should be notified right away so that appropriate pastoral care can be given. Hospitals do not notify Pastors.
Baptismal Arrangements: The pastor should be notified as soon as possible after a child's birth. Adult baptism follows a period of instruction.
Wedding Arrangements: The arrangements should be made with Pastor as far in advance as possible. All married couples are required to take the PREPARE/ENRICH personality inventory and attend subsequent premarital guidance sessions.
Discipleship/Membership: In order to develop loving relationships, we ask all individuals who would like to become new disciples/members to attend the "Discover SST" classes before they are received into our membership.
Funeral Services: The pastor should be notified immediately upon the death of a person so that all possible pastoral assistance can be given to the bereaved. This includes the setting of the dates and times for the visitation, funeral service, interment, lunch and any other arrangements required. For those who would like to plan in advance for their funeral arrangements, contact the church office for a form that will be kept in a confidential file.
Special Intercessions: Prayers are included in the staff meetings and/or in a church service upon request. Use the prayer request cards located in the pew rack.
Confidential Counseling: No problem is too big/small. The pastors will understand. They will not be shocked nor will they scold. They will never betray your confidence.
