As We Gather In our Gospel reading for today, Jesus told His disciples that it was necessary for Him to depart to Jerusalem, to suffer many things from the religious leaders, to be killed, and to be raised on the third day. This was the first of Jesus' 3 predictions to His disciples that He would do what He was sent to do so that you and I might be saved from the horrors of hell for all eternity. We will be reminded that Jesus rebuked Peter because he was NOT speaking for God, but for the devil when he tried to reject the truth that Jesus' mission. Let us remember that we are called to share the truth about Jesus' mission so that others might believe He came for them, too.
