As We Gather With the world ringing in the New Year, many people will be happy to have 2020 in the rear-view mirror. As we reflect on this past year, we remember those who have died in the past year. We mourn our own sins and failures. But we also consider all of the ways in which Jesus has continued to lead and guide us. On this night, we remember the love of Christ that sustains us through each passing year, and we pray His blessing on another year of grace. We also look in eager anticipation for the return of our Lord, when we are brought into his presence forever, and when that time comes, we’ll never have a year like 2020 again.
