Light Shining in the Darkness
Jesus Christ is the “light of the world” (John 8:12) who drives out sin and darkness. He fills us with His light and joy to reflect to the world.

Fragrant Oil
In the Early Church, when new Christians were baptized, fragrant oil was often placed upon them to remind them of their new life in Christ, who Himself rose from His spiced tomb as the Anointed One of God. This oil set them apart as ones who had been chosen by God.

When Jesus describes Himself in John 6 as the bread of life, we know that He highlights for us His mission of salvation. Let us taste and experience that life together this day as the Holy Spirit calls us to walk with Jesus and be satisfied by His presence among us.
